QR Smart Codes

Use the same production Smart Link in QR codes while keeping routing editable in ZipQuantum.

Current model

A QR Smart Code encodes the public Smart Link URL. Scanning the code therefore uses the same host validation, lifecycle rules, device detection, parameters, fallbacks, click count, and session analytics as a normal click.

Workflow

  1. Create and fully test the Smart Link.
  2. Generate or download a QR representation of that exact production URL.
  3. Test the printed size and contrast on real iOS and Android devices.
  4. Keep the Smart Link active for the entire lifetime of the printed material.

Important

Changing routing fields does not require reprinting if the encoded public URL remains unchanged. Changing the hostname or reference does require a new QR code.
